General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Miralax is a soft laxative used for treating the occasional constipation. It acts by absorbing the water, thus making the stools softer for an easy evacuation. However, its regular use is not recommended. For the relief of chronic constipation, a change in dietary intake is recommended like taking more fluids and consuming a high fiber diet.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
