Is It Safe To Take Two Tablets Of Ranitidine In A Day?

My doctor started me on 300 mg of Ranitidine tablet GLN. I was taking one at night before bed. It did not last all 24 hours . My doctor said to take two 300 mg a day. before bed and after lunch. Do you think this is two much to take or should I take Tums, which I have, to finish the day. Thank You Richard

Two Ranitidine of 150 mg is safe. If higher doses are required I advise you to shift over to proton pump inhibitors like Pantoprazole instead at 40 mg twice daily
