Is It Safe To Take Anti Inflammatory Drug Along With Penicillin?

I have been taking an anti inflammatory drug, diclofenac sodium 100 mg and went to dentist yesterday with possible abscess and he prescribed penicillin V 500 mg. I have taken the original dose of pen v 2 tablets and after 6 hrs, 1 tablet and dentist advised to continue diclofenac along with penicillin. However, I am not feeling exactly right, weak when standing, feeling like about to have diarrhea, a bit nauseated. I am also a heart patient and am on the following drugs: crestor, Plavix, 81 mg aspirin, amlodipine, fosinopril and clonidine.

As per your complain as you are advised to take Penicillin V and after taking the same you have symptoms of weakness and diarrhea then they are the side effects of the antibiotic..

I would suggest you to consult your treating Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation has to be done..
The antibiotic can be change and other safer antibiotics can be advised to you..

Along with it in case if you have a tooth abscess then taking antibiotic alone will not help and you should consult an Endodontist and get evaluated and the tooth needs to be treated..
You can be advised Root Canal Treatment or Extraction depending on condition of the tooth for permanent resolution..
