Is It Safe To Take Alcohol While On Eltroxin Medication?

My Mother has recently started taking eltroxin for her thyriod. Last night she had about 3-4 glasses of wine and today she did not remember talking to me on the phone. I have read a similar story and the individual had the same thing happen. I have also read that there is no know issues with alcohol and eltroxin

There is no interaction between Alcohol and Eltroxin . She can take Alcohol while on Eltroxin but in moderation.

What happened last night to her is called Black Out . It is due to excessive consumption of Alcohol . Advise her to reduce the intake of alcohol .

I appreciate your concern for your mother.
There is no interaction between Eltroxin and alcohol.
What your mother had was a temporary amnesia which can occur in people after they have taken alcohol.
Alcohol can affect the mind and memory, if taken in large quantities over a period of time.
She should also take Thiamine and a wholesome diet.
