Is It Safe To Take Lisinopril Along With Metoprolol For Chest Tightness And Palpitations?

I have been on Lisinopril 20mg 2 x a day and today was prescribed metoprolol 25mg 2 x a day. The reason I was prescribed the Met is because I am experiencing tightness in my chest and occasional palpitations. I guess my question is, is this too much bp meds??

Hi,

Yes, you are probably overdosing yourself. Always check you BP when using your anti-hypertensives. Check your TSH Leve, lipid profile, cardiac enzyme, ECG.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Chibitam Obia, General & Family Physician
