I have been diagnosed with a mild urinary tract infection. My doctor prescribed Levofloxacin. 5 capsules one a day for 5 days. I have been reading the warnings from taking it and I am afraid to take. Would it hurt if I cut the capsules in half and then take one half each day for 10 days instead of a whole capsule one a day for 5 days. I weigh 130 lbs and am 79 years old and in excellent health. I am thinking a person twice my weight might get the same size capsule. The only medicine I take is HCTZ 12 mg. each day. Could you advise. Thanks.
