Is It Safe To Take Cetaphil And Benedryl For Hives?
By day 3 post-op, I developed a severe reaction with hives and raw skin to the steri strips after LAVH. GYN removed the strips. This reaction became worse with raw patches and more hives after using triple antibiotic cream .Now six days post-op, I am washing with Cetaphil and covering with Vaseline and nonstick pad held in place with underwear, also am taking benedryl at night and allegra during the day. Surgical lap incisions are healing, but small hives and read patches are diminishing very slowly. Any other suggestions?

In my opinion such skin reaction are self limiting and may not need any treatment, keep the area clean and dry, no need to apply anything, antibiotic need to be avoided if this is not indicated, else this is nothing to worry, take care and have a nice day.
