Is It Safe To Take Cefixime For Fever In Children?
My daughter is 3 yrs old weight is 10 kg she has fever since last 8 days she tested positive for Vidal test 1:80 her platelets count drop from 159 to 135 in 5 days she tested negative for malaria and dengue she was on ofloxacin but doctor changed to cefixime and pcm

I understand your concern.
Your daughter was give Ofloxicin to start with which is used to treat common infections of respiratory/ urinary tract .Ther was no relief with this .
After Widal came +ve.. he has changed over to Cefixime.. . It is used to treat typhoid & is safe in children.
So please continue with the drug as per instructions given by the doctor.
