Is It Safe To Swing The Arms To Twist The Torso While Having PICC Line?

My wife has a PICC line for intravenous antibiotic treatment. In the past, she has vigorously swung her arms twisting her torso to get relief for low to mid back pain. Is it safe to do this activity if the exterior part of the PICC line is secured with tape?

hi
thank you for asking your concern and welcome to hcm. mild form of exercise is necessary in case picc line is there for many days. mild exercise prevents of forming any clot or obstruction due to non utilization of that arm, may prevent from local infection also. only care we need to take is of tearing its outlet but when it is secured with tape outside then no need to worry. you can consult your doctor to ask more about the type of exercises that you can do other wise gentle and mild exercise is no problem.
i hope i answered your concern and if you still feel any doubt please ask us
regards
