Is It Safe To Eat Food From A Tin Pan Covered With Plastic Lid That Has Melted After Keeping In The Oven?

I put a metal tin pan in the oven and left the plastic lid on by accident, then looked in the oven to check on the food and realized what i did. the plastic shrunk up, but did not seem to melt on to the food but i'm not sure, do you think it would still be safe to eat?
