Is it possible for a human being to miss his Coccyx ?
Hi there im posting this for a friend as hes alittle confused his 9year old son has just been diagnosed with a missing Coccyx is it possible that this is the reason why he is still not toilet trained. I understand this bone helps with with pelvic floor muscles but accationally he says he knows he needs the loo, he also has a poo problem where he will soil himself hes doing somthing he seems taken up in like computergames thanks
welcome to healthcaremagic
coccyx is a vestigial organ and congenital absence of it may be in some cases
absence of it probably not related to toilet training
please get a check up to rule out any neurological deficit

I have a sore (maybe a pimple or boil type thing) right below my tailbone. It hurts to touch and at times sitting can be uncomfortable. Is it a cyst? Is it possible to treat this with something over the counter? I have good hygiene but do sweat a lot.

I have been suffering tremendously with terrible coccyx pain throughout the buttocks and down through the vaginal area. In the vaginal area I have very serious burning along with pain so much to the extent that I can barely sit down at all. The coccyx bone is inflamed and when I lay down on my left and right sides. my legs start to burn and tingle along with pain. I have had every injection you can possibly imagine throughout the years and I just don t know where to turn anymore. Doctors upon doctors have treated me and there just isn t any relief at all. I just had and imparganglian block done last Friday and it felt good for about 10 minutes and came back just as it was. Can you possibly give me some insight on this. Thank You, Barbara Neff
In my 20s, I had been pushed very hard on to the wooden part of the arm (sofa) and had landed on my bottom. I had immediately after had experienced great pain, which I knew was my tail bone. I then went to the hospital due the pain and was unable to walk very well but was told at the Hospital that it was possible bruising and was given ibrophen tablets, eventually got better after a few weeks with plenty of rest and ibrophen tablets. However, Many years later in 1998. I had given birth to my son and had experiensed the same pain in the same area (coccyx ) and heard a poping sound in my lower back and felt pain afterwards. I was yet again in a lot of pain. I had found it difficult to look after my son. I had home help within my home; once a day two nurses had inserted pain killers up my bottom end due to the wicked pain I had experienced. I also had physiotherapy but can't remember how many times a week this was done at my home; Eventually this had also got better but unfortunately felt the same pain in my back and the tail bone, when I had my periods. In 2009 had gone for an examination for bowel cancer. Before I had gone to the hospital for the examination was sent some very powerful laxatives, to empty my bowels. I had then yet again experienced the same servere pain in my tailbone but this time the pain has never gone away since. I have had MRI scans but the results came back as clear but still convinced that i have injuried my tailbone and lower back. It's difficult to keep still in the MRI scanes for a long length of time and wounded if this effected the results.
Hi, i had been sitting on my chair in the office for a long time, that too I would keep my legs on the CPU of the computer which was under the table. N I think the whole pressure must have gone on my tail bone coccyx. So from that time I have been getting pain. I have been trying to avoid sitting for a long time but at times there is little pain. What should I do? Do u think its serious
