Is It Normal To Have Spaces In Between Stitches On A Wound?

A nail ripped my skin around my calf all the way to muscle and it s still bleeding through out the day This happened 3 days ago. After looking at the cut I noticed that the cut isn t stitched closely together. There are lots of space between stitches. Is this normal? Will this make scaring worse? Will this take longer to heal?
