Is It Normal To Have A Bone Protruding From The Skull Behind The Ear?

I have a small (slightly larger than a pea size) lump behind by left ear, I ve had it for a quite a while. I have been to the doctors for it they weren t sure what it was so I got sent for a scan of some sort ( can t remember what it was called sorry) however they told me it was just protruding bone from my skull & there was nothing they could do. and its had me worried ever since. Is it normal for bone to be protruding from the skull? Thank you in advance for your help/advise it is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

No, it is not normal to have protruding bone from skull. However, in my opinion, we should first confirm whether it is bone or something else. Get an ultrasound and X-ray of skull done. If needed CT scan is also needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
