Is It Normal To Get A Tonsil Cyst After A Tonsillectomy?

I had a tonsillectomy last year in July. I have lately been having a small cyst on the back of my throat, someone told me it was a tonsil cyst. My throat has been a little sore but not horrible. It just feels like something is stuck in the back of my throat. Should I ask my doctor for antibiotics? Is it normal to get tonsil cyst even after a tonsillectomy?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Since when you developed this cyst?? until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Possible causes like Peritonsillar abscess or mucocele or stones or ulcers may appear like this.
Consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
