Is It Normal For Skin To Peel Off From A Broken Toe?

Hi! I ve probably broken one of my toes ( second smallest), about 2-3 months ago. Did not go to doctor, because i ve been told, and i ve noticed that you can hardly do anything to a broken toe, except to give cast shoe. That s not the point though. It s finally healing ( not so ..tender?) but i noticed that the skin is peeling of from the sides of the toe. This caused some alarm, because skin isn t peeling in any other toes, not even the largest one that i broke few years ago.. This is really odd, cos i think it didn t peel off before, and now it just have started to heal nicely, pain is going away etc. so whats with the skin?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

Peeling of skin seems to be a normal response from healing of skin. Apply a moisturizing cream containing white soft paraffin 2-3 times in a day for 7-10 days. This will resolve your problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
