Is It Normal For Kids To Prick The Skin In Nervousness?

my 3 year old daughter is constantly picking the skin on her fingers she has been doing it for a very long time know since at least the age of 2 I thought that she would grow out of it but she still doing it I've tried everything rewarding her when she do's not do it to pulling her hands apart when she do's it sitting her down and talking to her and asking if anything is bothering her but still she picks all the time I'm at the end of my tether with it

Hi...I feel it is a habit disorder. Nothing to worry about if it not hurting her. If it is not interrupting her play activities and sleep, you need not worry. But I suggest you not to keep giving importance to it. At this age if it is being recognized by adults and care giver, it can turn into attention seeking behavior and actually it will make the kid, do it more. But If you ignore the kid will forget it by herself. But if she is licking the hands and her development is abnormal, then we need to suspect Rett disorder.
