Is It Common For Babies To Start Waking Up At Night?
My son is 19 months and every night starting around 11pm to 4am he cries and tosses. It gets so bad that I have to put his right next to me in bed just to get him to stop crying for 30 min so I can get sleep in between every 30 min. Around 4am he falls into a deep sleep until 7am. This has been going on for months and I'm really getting drained.
I have gone through your question and I can understand how exhausted you must be because of this routine. Babies sleep habits can be disturbed due to multiple reasons such as any change in daily routine or surroundings or achieving a new developmental milestone which causes them to remain awake at odd hours as they can not calm themselves. Always check that the baby is not hungry, wet, feeling hot or cold. Establishing a proper bedtime routine such as shower, changing in loose fitted pajamas, dimming the lights and if possible a bedtime story or lullaby helps in drifting to sleep.
