Is It Advisable To Take Alcohol When Diagnosed With Pseudo Cholinesterase Deficiency?

Hey, when having my tubes put in my ear, I was put to sleep with anasthesia and did not wake up for a prolonged time. My family is concerned I have Pseudocholinesterase deficiency and would like to know the dangers of alcohol and other substances. Thanks!

Ok.... we find people who have this rare disease due to exactly the situation you described.
If alcohol were bad with this disease, we'd have those with the disease in the emergency room every hour of every day !... we don't... and there's nothing in the literature to suggest it and.... alcohol doesn't do much to the choline system involved. FOr alcohol. no
For succinylcholine... yes, very bad (that's a paralytic agent used in surgery).
mivacurium and suxamethonium, some insecticides, some nerve gasses, probably also the nerve gas preventative drug the army uses, probably cocaine, maybe lithium.. and that's it.

would be a reasonable concern that pseudocholinesterase deficiency would cause this. BUT alcohol does not interact with this disorder (or everyone with it would wind up in the ER !)
