Is Irregular Bleeding Normal While Taking Qlaira Contraceptive Pills?

Hi, i am 23 years old, currently taking qlaira contraceptive pill, its my forth month and i never taken a pill before in my life. A week before finishing my third set of pills (and getting my period), i started bleeding a little every day. the bleeding lasted two weeks with the latter week being slightly heavier, due to the period. I had a monthly break from the pill and started my forth set about 3 weeks ago. it is now a week early before my period and i started bleeding a little again. I read that such symptom is pretty usual with qlaira and my doctor said that i should worry if i dont bleed at all, and that my symptoms are normal. Is there a way to stop this bleeding?

Hi,

Irregular bleeding can be a common side effect of Qlaira contraceptive pills, especially during the first few months of use. However, if the bleeding is heavy or persistent, it's always best to check with your doctor to make sure there are no underlying health issues.

In terms of stopping the bleeding, your doctor may suggest trying to take the pills consistently at the same time each day, as missed pills can sometimes cause breakthrough bleeding. Additionally, they may suggest taking a short break from the pills to allow your body to reset, or switching to a different type of birth control pill. It's important to follow your doctor's advice and not stop taking the pills without their guidance.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
