Is Having Rhizotomy Safe For Cervical Vertebrae?

I am considering a Rhizotomy at C-5 and C-7. My other alternative is an ACDF. This operation is too aggressive for my level one mild to moderate condition. What are the risks for a Rhizotomy and also are their any other procedures short of fusion that would eliminate the pain? I am fully functional only my left shoulder and arm experience pain burning tingling and aggravating discomfort. It is difficult to type with left hand without tingling in fingers
