Is Hair Thinning A Side Effect Of Topomax?

I have been taking 100mg of topomax since January 2015 to treat migraines. I ve noticedy hair starting to thin out over the last few weeks. I didn t see this side effect listed in the medication guide I received from the pharmacy but I have seen others mention it on forums. Is this a common side effect? Is it reversible? Thank you!!

Understanding your concern.
As you describe in your query that you are on 100mg topomax dose and experiencing hair thinning .Well you are right hair thinning is side effect of topomax .Usually the symptoms of side effect go away by there own on withdrawal of drug, if they are not serious.

I would suggest you to immediately consult your doctor about this ,so that doctor can explore possible alternative of topomax like depakene and suggest you measures to reverse the effect of topomax.
