Is Gluten Free Diet Advisable For Chronic Diarrhea And Bloating Post Hemicolectomy?
I had a right hemicolectomy over a year ago. I recently discovered, after a visit with my gastro doc for chronic diarrhea, that my ileocecal valve was removed. He put me on cholestyramine which has helped, but I have some bloating and gas issues. Was reading where gluten free diets may be necessary. I dread this idea because I ve tried those diets and, yuck. What are your thoughts please.

I really appreciate your concern, it may not be the case as you have described here, if this is the diarrhea then underlying cause of this is matter of concern and it may be due to protozoa infection or bacterial infection, better to get done the stool examination if this long last hope this information helps.
