Is Flying Safe After The Placement Of Cervical Cerclage?

Good day, I ve had three miscarriages before (two in the FT and one early ST). I am currently 12 weeks pregnant and will have a cervical cerlage placed in the next week and a half. I am planning to travel from the Caribbean to the US in July (will be 18 weeks thereabout) and stay there until I have the baby. Is it advisable for me to travel with a cerclage in place considering my history?

Hello,

You can safely fly with cervical cerclage in situ. You have to take proper rest and physical exertion must be avoided.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
