Is Feeling Lightheaded Followed By Heavy Nose Bleed Serious?

my son is 21 years old, he felt light headed earlier and has been having a heavy nose bleed since. it will stop when i tell him to put his head back, but will start within 1/2 hour. could it be something serious? he already went to the emergency room.

Nosebleeds of this nature should be seen and evaluated by ENT....and are NOT UNCOMMON...but can result in a LOT of bleeding....He may have a nasal polyp or some other cause for the bleeding that can only be surgically corrected. If these bleeds are not that frequent then, tight nasal packing is the preferred treatment of choice.
