Is Emergency Contraceptive Pill Advisable While On Marvelon?

Hi I use Marvelon 21 and I missed a pill in the second week (last Friday). I had intercourse yesterday before taking the Saturday pill. I took the Saturday pill as usual, but didn t take the missed pill. Do I need to go for emergency contraception pills?

Hello, I really appreciate your concern. I advise you to take emergency contraceptive pills because you disrupted the intake cycle of oral contraceptive pills Marvelon 21. Appropriate medicines are available in the market. So why to take chance? You should stop taking further medicines and use barrier contraceptives for this month. From next menstrual cycle you can proceed with Marvelon 21. In case you forget a pill, take it as soon as you remember it.
