Is Drifting Of The Right Eye, Post Right-sided Rhinoplasty And Septoplasty, Temporary?

Hi. My daughter had rhinoplasty and septoplasty yesterday. In the afternoon we noticed that her right eye ( the same side as the main problem area of her nose ) was drifting to the right . She has never a problem with her eyes before . She has had anaesthetic before and experienced no problems . Do you think this is temporary or may some damage been done ? Thank you Norma

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Post rhinoplasty drifting of eyes is unusual. But there's will be uneven eyes due to swelling.

It may take 2-8weeks to reduce swelling. But in the case of squint means then there will be temporary ocular muscle function reduction due to edema.

Use painkiller medication, with anti-edema measures.

If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
