Is Cigarette Smoking Safe While On A Pacemaker?
I have a 70 year old brother in law being considered for pacemaker implant in relation to congestive heart failure. He is also diabetic and a smoker. Despite physician advice to stop smoking he takes up smoking again daily. I think getting a pacemaker while having high probability of continuing smoking is ill advised and contraindicated. What do you think?
