Is Chest Pain And Shortness Of Breath With History Of Arterial Blockage Dangeorus?
my father-in-law is experiencing shortness of breath, chest pains, and discoloration. last year he had a mild heart attack and diagnosed with blocks in 2 arteries. stint was implanted in 1 artery but still minor blockage in other. he's refusing to go to hospital and wanted to know if this is cause for concern
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Chest pain and shortness of breath could be caused due to insufficient supply of blood to the heart and may have occurred due to angina pectoris. With previous history of mild heart attack and blockage of arteries, it needs to be attended to on an emergency basis as measures need to be taken to prevent the episode going in for myocardial infarction. Kindly get him admitted to emergency department at the earliest to take an electrocardiogram and other necessary investigations, so that it could be appropriately managed. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
