Is Burning Sensation In The Eyes A Symptom Of An Allergic Reaction?

A co-worker used an essential oil diffuser at her desk. My sinuses started to burn, nose closed up and eyes and throat began to burn . I couldn t smell the aroma, but after awhile I could taste it. My lungs began to hurt. She is insisting that we all need her aroma therapy. Her diffuser ran for at least 2 hours. I unplugged it. I believe I was having an allergic reaction. Am I correct?
