Is Blood In Urine After Being Hit Between Legs A Cause For Concern?

My boyfriend and I were horsing around yesterday and I kneed him square between his legs, completely accidentally. An hour later he used the mens' room and he had blood in his urine and it hurt to pee. Today he is experiencing the same issues. Should he go to a doctor or wait it out?

hai, i would recomend you to see ER as soon as possible, as the history would suggest me that there is trauma to urethra or bladder outlet, depending upon the force of hit there could be pubic bone fracture. an emergency ultrasound would ruleout the bladder injury, and your doctor may recommend him an retrograde urethrography ( to check the status of the urethra). Thank you.
