Is Blood In Phlegm While Coughing Normal In Person With TB?

I was coughing up blood in phlegm in the past two days. I am a tuberculosis patient and taking medicine since three months ago. May I know the condition become worst or it is normal? I never cough up blood in phlegm, normally was clear phlegm or green phlegm. Thank you for your time to read my message

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM. Blood in phegm is known as Hemoptysis. And it is seen in TB as presenting symptoms. But you are taking treatment since 3 months so at present presence of hemoptysis needs furter evaluation with chest x ray. If chest x ray is improving than no need to worry. It is due to friction while coughing. But if the chest x ray is worsening than hemoptysis indicates failure of treatment and possibility of drug resistant TB is high. So consult pulmonologist and discuss these and get done chest x ray.
