Is Blood Glucose Level Of 325 A Cause For Concern?

I'm 61, 290 lbs, 6'2" tall, male and diet controlled diabetic. My blood glucose is at 325 four hours after a fish sandwich for lunch with a low glycimic cookie for a snack an hour ago - normally glucose level is below 200 with a fasting level of between 100 and 120.
Yesterday I had a Transforaminal Epidural Injection (TFESI) in my neck. I was told the steroids could (would) play games with my blood sugar, but other than a nasty headache, I feel fine.
Is 325 "normal" or anything to be concerned about under the circumstances?

Hi.Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
Yes, dear blood glucose level of 325 can be very harmful along with emergency situations like diabetic ketoacidosis , hyperosmolar coma etc.

This is due to the effect of corticosteroids administered in you (Transforaminal Epidural Injection) & would decrease with time. Steroids cause breakage of carbohydrates in body producing extra glucose than your insulin would dispose, so your blood glucose level are increased.

Refer to your physician for consultaion if blood glucose level remains high.

Hope this information helps.
