Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Bleeding With Black/reddish Color On Wound Normal?
I hit my index finger on the door hard .It swelled where you bend it. It also cut the middle where the finger bends. I cleaned it with alcohol and put a band aid on it .Today it looks black and redish above and below the finger .Is that normal. It still bleeds a little when I move it.
Hi, you have suffered a penetrating injury to your index finger. Discoloration suggest an active infection or a vascular compromise. I would suggest 1) To consult a physician and to get wound cleaned in a aseptic measure. 2) To start on antibiotic i.e amoxicillin and chymorol forte 3) you have not mentioned any fluid coming from wound, however still bleeding is there, intervention must be done Hope i have answered your question, if you have any doubts feel free to ask.
