Is Ablation For SVT Advisable While Having Heart Problem?

My daughter is now 18 yrs old and had an ablation for svt when she was 10 yrs old. I am not familiar with them but have heard it s not a good idea if you have had any kind of heart problems. Any thoughts to share would be great coming from a Doctor so I can make her understand it better.

Hi welcome to HCM.
Ablation is strongly recommended in cases when the arrhythmia is refractory to medical management. This procedure can offer permanent cure in cases like SVT.This procedure is relatively free of complications.Monitoring with periodical baseline ecg will help to identify the progress of the procedure.Screening 2 dimensional echo will help to rule out associated organic heart lesions.Consult your cardiologist for further care.
Thank you.
