Is A Surgery For Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Advisable While On Xarelto?

I was just diagnosed with severe carpal tunnel syndrome on both sides. I am also taking xarelto because of a past PE and factor V mutation. Few questions. First, how long can I postpone surgery. I have tried bracing for months, does help some, but still some discomfort. I love to garden, golf, bike, etc. How much would I have to give up? How long is the recovery? Is surgery dangerous being on xarelto? Should I have surgery on both sides at once or different times? Can I just live with carpal tunnel without surgery? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Xeralto is an anti coagulent which is not likely to increase possibility of bleeding during the surgery .. on the other hand it would prevent post operative thromboembolism...so there is no need to stop the drug before surgery.
Ofcourse operating surgeon's opinion would be the final one.. to be followed.
Thanks.
