Is A Roadrash Draining Clear Liquid Post Treatment With Antibiotic A Cause For Concern?
Got roadrash few days ago washed and treated with bactin spray and antibiotic ointment. Now it s still draining a clear liquid which dries with a light yellowish tint. It soaked through bandage and shirt but trying to air out after washing with dial soap. Is this normal?
hello, i can understand your concern. serous (clear discharge) can sometimes be present in a healing wound. if it is yellowish and is smelly it is definitely pus(as you have mentioned it is yellowish). this would require draining of the pus and application of sterile dressing daily with betadine(povidone iodine). the infection should be treated adequately with antibiotics. hope you are satisfied with the response. thanks for choosing HCM.
