Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband was in the hospital week before last with a viral infection in the fluid around his heart. He has been put on a statin drug and Toprol, and had some Afib problem in the hospital. His resting heart rate is 95 today and it has been around 65-70. He is scheduled for another echo tomorrow. Should I be concerned with the low resting heart rate? He has not energy at all today. He just wants to sleep.
After going through the medical details provided by you of your father i would like to tell you that his heart rate is well within the normal recommended range so nothing to be worried about for that.
As his body is recovering from an illness that why he is feeling tired and sleepy. Just take care of his diet he will be fine.
I wish him good health
