Is A Lab Report Showing A High Eosinophil Count A Cause For Worry?

Hello Doctor, My MPV is 12, Eosinophills differential count is 10 and Eosinophills absolute count is 499. I am very worried about this and it seems these levels are bit higher than normal. Kindly suggest me remedies in normalizing these levels. Thank You!

Hi,

Don't worry for slight high eosinophil.

Usually, it can be due to allergic inflammation of the upper respiratory tract or parasite infestation. Kindly mention your clinical complaints so that I can guide you further and able to give a primary diagnosis.

Attach your CBC report as well. According to cause specific treatment given.

Usually, in allergic inflammation of upper respiratory tract, montelukast and levocetirizine combination can be prescribed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
