Is A Hair, Releasing Pus And Blood Occasionally, A Cause For Concern?

I believe i have an ingrown hair that s infected as it releases pus and blood and arises every now and then. I don t think it s any herpes but I had a few ingrown hair in the past couple months. I also had what I thought was a hemorrhoid but the swelling went away in a few days. Is it something more serious?

Hi.

Well an ingrown hair is the one that instead of growing away from the skin curls backs and grows towards the skin..

In case if it gets infected and causes pain and pus discharge so you should consult an Emergency room or a Physician and get evaluated.

The pus can be drained and hair can be removed so that it doesn't occur again.

For now apply Triple antibiotic ointment over it.

Hope I have answered your query.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
