Is UTI Infection Related To Frequent Urination And Weak Urine Stream?

I saw my family doctor last week for lab for clearance for knee surgery. I was told I have UTI. Other than being lathargic I was not aware of it. I have been on antibiotics for five days. I am having frequent urination and very slow flow. Is this normal?
