Is Toradol Tablets Effective In Treating Chronic Migraine?

My daughter suffers w/chronic migraines. Her insurance declines coverage of Ketoralac tab. This med has helped her the most to often halt a migraine starting or help w/pain once one starts. I ve read that it helps reduce inflammation associated with hormone increase with the migraines which is her case. I m searching for a similar nsaid that helps reduce inflammation from hormones associated with migraines. Would Toradol tablet be one. She stays away from narcotics.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

If I was your caring doctor would advise to rule out:

- anaemia

- thyroid problems

- issues related to blood vessels (narrowing of arteries).

Meanwhile, I recommend to:

- continue taking the pain
-killers you are using at the moment
- continue drinking plenty of water and getting plenty of rest
- avoid foods/odours/drinks that would trigger or aggravate the symptoms

The migraine attacks will generally last for a few days. If the symptoms won't improve or will get worse or if the migraine attacks will be more frequent, should consult with a neurologist for further evaluations and specific treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
