Is Topiramate Safe To Be Taken While On Amitriptyline?
I ve been on Amitriptyline 25mg for over 5yr., prescribed for a jaw clenching I couldn t get rid of... it has seemed to keep that at by... I also however have RLS in my legs that has become out of control and have recently started taking topiramate 25 mg 3x tablets a night... is this safe to take together if the two drugs help me keep these to troubling matters at bay?
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. I would not have recommended you to take these two medicines together. Topiramate can cause increased body temperature and decreased sweating, and these effects may be worsened when combined with medications like amitriptyline. I would recommend you to consult your doctor to get an alternate medicine.
Let me know if this was helpful and do ask if you have any further questions.
Regards, Dr. Akash Kumar
