Is TSH Suppression Advisable Post Thyroidectomy?

yes or no to tsh suppression for thyroid removed(37 years ago) - mom had medullary carcinoma. I had hyper C cell plasia(calcitonin stimulated). However no mutation on dna testing for me and my daughters. Mom did not have dna testing. Some doc s want to use tsh suppression - some say it doesn t work for this.

I really appreciate your concern, it is all depends upon the level of TSH in system and for that thyroid function test is must instead of going for DNA test and other test, more thing clinical symptoms matters the great (once the surgery being decided then no question arises for suppression of TSH hope this information helps.
