Is Reclast Effective In The Treatment Of Paget S Disease?

They dr. Want to start giving my husband reclast. .. he has pagets disease. . He haas no problems of kidney trouble that we know of but his mother had renal failure should this be something he shoild go ahead and try or not since kidney disease run in family... i should add that mother and she siblings all have the same muscular disease he recently had genetic testing done and came back with the results of IBMPFD/ALS.

Hi,

Though many times Paget disease does not need any treatment however there are few situations where drugs may be used.

Reclast is indicated in such condition and help the bone pains and raised calcium.

There is no reason to think it would cause renal failure if her mother had.

So I think it wise to use the drug as its safe and effective many times though adverse effects may occur sometimes which would be explained to you they are very uncommon.
