Is Rapaflo The Right Medicine For Urinary Tract Infection?

My Dad was taking Flo max 0.8then was changed to rapaflo. Since being on Rapaflo, he has had 4 back to back UTI s. Could it be that the Rapaflo does not help with urinary retention? The only reason he was switched was due to the size of the capsules.

Hello

Rapaflo is not prescribed for UTI.
Rapoaflo contains silodosin( belongs to alpha-adrenergic blockers)and it relives symptoms of enlarged prostate.
It may be prescribed due to enlarged prostate.
Flo max is also prescribed for enlarged prostate.
Rapaflo is expected to cause UTI,it may be due to some other reasons.

You father may need proper antibiotics depending upon culture and sensitivity report.
He may need clinical correlation and investigations like routine hemogram, random blood sugar, urine RE/ME and culture and sensitivity, ultrasound of KUB region.
He should drink lot of water.
He may also need alkalizing syrup.

Get well soon.
Take Care
