Is Polysporin Advisable To Treat Bruises And Blood Spots In An Elderly?

I have a 95 year father who has bruises and blood spots on his forearms.I know that they are due to aging and the skin being thin. My concern is that one of them has become an open sore and I do not want it to become infected. What is the best treatment for this wound? I have put polysporin on a gauze pad applied to wound and wrapped with rolled gauze and clear tape applying only to the gauze to avoid damaging the skin when removed.Thank you

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is the skin infection then oral anti-biotic can be taken and best drug would be Tab Cefdinir 300 mg twice in day, local application of "Povidone Iodine" can be tired else this is nothing to worry hope this information helps.
