Is Plaquenil The Cause For Irregular Menstruation?
I am 53 & hadn’t had a period for 9 months. I was diagnosed with Srojens & have been on Plaquenil for almost a year. I had a period then nothing for 3 months. Now I have had them for 2 weeks for the last 3 months and more period pain than normal. Could the Plaquenil be causing this.
Hello dear. Welcome to Healthcaremagic. I read your query and I understand your concern. Metrorhagia is not a side effect of plaquenil but may get worse from it. You should visit a gynecologist and do some examinations such colposcopy and ultrasound to determine the source of bleeding. Is not normal this bleeding after 9 months In menopause. Take care. Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help you. Best regards ,Dr Olgeta Xhufka ( general and family physician ).
