Is Piriton CS The Right Medicine For Itchy Red Rashes On Chest Area?

Hi doctor, I was prescribed Fexofenadine 120mg tablets today for an itchy red rash I have on my chest. I have not felt much relief and just wanted to ask if it was possible to take piriton to ease the itchiness, which is particularly bad at night. Please kindly advise - Thank you.

Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Fexofenadine is an anti histamine used for itching. Piriton is given for allergic cough. It may help in getting relief because it also has antihistamine chlorpheniramine. But Piriton is not recommended for itching. You can take benadryl instead of Fexofenadine. That will give you relief from itching and get some sleep. Calamine lotion locally also will be helpful.
