Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My coach on my dance team told me I am not allowed to dance in games until I become stronger due to my accident proneness. I just injured my ankle about a week ago and my coach has suggested I do P90x on my own to get stronger. Would dancing or p90x be more dangerous to my injury? If you had to pick one
P90X is a workout routine. There are many routines and P90x is not endorsed by sports medicine associations. It is a bit of a gimmick. That being said, it is ultra-low danger and impact and looks like it would be quite safe.
It does not seem to have anything to do with coordination. Lack of strength isn't the usual cause of accidents, but then, the coach observes you and I do not. Frankly, I would advise a professionally trained observer (any physical therapist) to recommend specific exercise for specific injuries.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Matt Wachsman
