Is Omnacortil And Ambrodil Safe For Treatment Of Cold In An Infant?
Hi, I am Ajay. My 15 month old child has fast cold & productive caugh by last 5 days. His dr. prescribed Omnacortil Solution 5mg- 2 times (5ml each) Ambrodil-S- 3 times (5ml each) Pecef 100- 2 times (2.5ml each) Zincocet- 2 times (5ml each) Please advice me that this is safe for kid. Because the medecine Pecef 100 is a higher antibiotic and Omnacortil is astroid. All these are safe or may be serious in near furure.
If they are used under proper medical supervision, all the drugs are okay for your child. The key word is "Proper". This means you should have gone to a qualified pediatrician who does not indulge in over-prescription for the sake of making more money.
The fact that the child is on a higher antibiotic and steroids is not in itself a suggestion that the doctor is using unnecessary drugs. However, if he is using them for a simple cold, then it is unnecessary. If, however, your child has a chest fullness, fast breathing, or high fever, all the above medicines are justified.
Do suggest asking for an X-ray of the chest and a full blood count to validate the diagnosis.
